Abbey Grange is a very successful secondary school. We are the only Church of England Aided High School in Leeds, and therefore serve the whole community of the city.  Within our caring and Christian ethos we continually strive for excellence in all areas of school life, both inside and outside the classroom. We have high expectations of all our students. We challenge them fully in order to maximise their potential. We provide very effective pastoral support and our students develop as individuals socially, culturally and spiritually – because every child matters.

Through our specialist status as a Humanities College specialising in English, History and Religious Studies, we aim to build on our achievements across the curriculum, develop innovation and strengthen the ethos of the school as an inclusive but distinctive Church and international school. We are using our new Humanities status to raise standards even higher, by improving our facilities and being creative in our approaches to teaching and learning. We work as active partners with our partner primary and secondary schools, link universities and our community, sharing and developing resources and good practice. Learners develop their active contribution to the wider society and work in partnership with the community both locally and internationally to enhance opportunities for lifelong learning in the context of Humanities.

I look forward to working in partnership with you to “educate, nurture and empower”.

Alan Key, Headteacher
